Hello - I just had my friend Matt, buy a 990 and he has no monitor nor tv yet.

Can anybody tell me how to do two things:

1 - How to assign an input? (He has a Roku and wants to use AUX with Coax 2.

2 - The sub is working with the radio, but not with the cd or dvd. How can he assign the sub to be l/r + sub?

You need to be able to see the OSD to make any changes. The front panel doesn't provide any guidance. He really needs some way to see the menu - even if it's a $40 Radio Shack 5" black & white display getting composite video from the 990's composite monitor out. That will allow him to assign coax2 to the AUX input, configure his speakers and sub, and all the rest.
