I have the 990 connected to the 7125, running 7 Paradigm Reference speakers. I sent my first 7125 back as the right channel was out, and in the meantime, I used my old HTIB Kenwood receiver for a 5.1 setup. I got a 7125 back on Monday as a replacement for the one I sent in, and it still seemed to be giving me problems, so I called and talked with Steve at Outlaw, and it turns out that the interconnect cable was bad, so I replaced the cable and ran the auto-setup.

So, I go about my business and come back into the theater room a couple hours later, and no sound from the front right speaker! I tired changing out interconnects to no avail, and I also tried running the front right speaker off another channel from the 7125, no problem, all is fine. So, I am thinking that maybe the 990's Front Right channel is dead. Any ideas or suggestions?

There's one quick 'n' dirty test of the 990's right front channel - connect the right front pre-amp output to the center channel of the 7125 (so that the center channel speaker is getting the right front signal) and see what you get. If the center works fine, that would tend to rule out the 990's output. If the center channel goes silent, then you have confirmed that the problem isn't the speaker or amp - leaving just the interconnect and 990 as candidates. And if you do this test with the interconnect currently serving the center (which apparently is working just fine), then you would just be testing the 990.

Gonk,

Tried this before, and this is how I think I isolated it to the 990 Right output. However, I visited with Steve at Outlaw after posting this message, and he recommended I do a system reset, re-load the firware update, do another system reset, and see if this is the problem. He feels that it is usually software or firmware on this type of problem, and rarely ever actually a bad output on the 990. I haven't done this yet, but I will get to it this afternoon. Thanks for your post!
