Okay, well I spoke with Adcom today about the GDV-870 DVD DVD player today and have the email in my inbox. They said the GTP-870HD is HDMI 1.2. However I imagine they were referring tot he GDV-870, but they also mentioned both units use the same upscaling chips etc.

The rear view didn't show enough detail to see if the Adcom has a phono input. Lack of same would be a deal breaker for me.

Well, I'm certainly not interested in their PreProcessor, I like my 990 plenty and have no reason to upgrade.

After a discussion with a few forum members last night, I think the Oppo DVD player will be a better purchase, price wise. Great reviews on that thing.

I looked at their "Quick Start Guide" which has a close-up diagram of the rear panel. There appears to be no phono input.
