Hello everyone.
Years ago, I had a dedicated Sony Tuner; an excellent unit with built in filters. The sound quality, from FM stations, was often digital level; in fact, I used it to make reel to reel recordings and to this day, they remain noiseless.
While the 990's Tuner is a major bonus, I've noticed some weaknesses. First, with the provided antenna, the reception was terrible. So, I bought some speaker wire, at Radio Shack, split it, so it had two branches, each a meter long and hung it up around my living room window. This was a great fix for reception.
However, there's still broadcast noise or interference, common from a radio signal. It's unfortunate that the 990 doesn't come with similar filters, as my Sony Tuner had.
I guess my question is this: are there such things as line filters you can install between the antenna and the 990 that will reduce this noise?
thanks,
John
