I have just added my fourth 2200 to my Denon AVR and it seems that the channels being driven by the amps may be a tad bit louder, do I need to set up the AVR again with the microphone they supply?

Yes, I'd definitely recalibrate the Denon for the new amps.

And preferably with a rat shack meter, more reliable imo.

Arky's referring to a Radio Shack SPL meter . It's the manual alternative to the microphone and automatic setup procedure offered by your Denon. There's a good general-purpose summary of how to use an SPL (sound power level) meter in the Outlaw manuals (990 or 1070/970).
