I really like the Outlaws and would have purchased the 990 except for the fact it is too *&^%ing big. I would have had to drastically modify my equipment rack to fit it in and I am not prepared to do that.
I checked out the Emotiva DMC-1 too, However after considertion of what it offered I decided to wait to see what Outlaw might do in the next incaration of thier Pre-Pro.
I will also wait to see that Sherwood-Newcastle will do with their upcoming Pre-Pro.
Hopefully I am making the right choice and the next version of the Outlaw Prepro will be worth waiting for.
Peace, LTK

Re the 990's size, I too wish it were a tad smaller, especially in depth with balanced audio output and VMI input cables. But the Sherwood Newcastle P965 is exactly the same size - not surprising.

Yes, I too had to battle the size issue when looking for a new cabinet to house the components. I still had to cut out a small hole in the back, but it has been worth it all for the performance I have enjoyed. UMtiger

I hope you have a very comfortable chair, 'cause it may be a very looooong wait :-). The 990 is this size for a number of reasons, one being the ability to make so many conections. I don't see Outlaw changing this product anytime soon.

I searched long & hard for a rack, I finally found one at Circuit City of all places. It accomodates larger units at 21"W x 23"D. The maker is Gusdorf, $199 & seems pretty sturdy. I would add pic if I knew how.

I don't use a rack, but so far my IKEA TV stand handles it very well. Think I paid about 150.00.

Arky, I inquired, but I can't figure out what the weight limit is for that piece of furniture. Please let me know.
Thank you,
Aaron
