I finally got my 990/7125 combo hooked, albeit in stereo. Still working on the building the HT room. One BIG problem: the 990 remote doesn't work. When a button is presed the remote lights up and the red light goes on like a signal was sent, but no reaction from the 990. Not even the volume the button on the remote works! Any ideas? Must be something stupid simple or the remote is defective?

On a plus side the sound is HOLOGRAPHIC!!!!!! VERY SPACIOUS imaging! I kept hearing things as I was walking around the house. I thought someone was knocking or something, nope just the Outlaw 990/7125 doing it's job!

Remote problem is puizzling though!

As a new user, you may not have noticed that the
TNR" button has to be pressed before the remote can "talk" to the 990.

Try that first, and then see if there is still a problem.

Try pushing the "TNR" button first.
This tells the remote to control the 990.

Like I said something simple stupid! Everything works now!

Don't sweat it - you are far from the first person to get tripped up by this - Bruce E hit the same speed bump just over the weekend, and it's cropped up from time to time for about as long as this forum has been around (could probably find this very case in an old Model 1050 thread from 2001 if I looked for a while). It's too easy to get caught up in other things, especially with a new toy.
