I get the impression that Islander is building this system from scratch or close to it (meaning no good processor at the moment, making the system pretty useless). If that is the case, the 990 is a good candidate for the role while we all wait for the HDMI mess to shake out.

Islander already has the LMC-1 - hence, my advice to wait a few more months, if he can. (unless you meant that having the LMC-1 = "no good processor at the moment" - )

I see - didn't see the LMC-1 listed in his equipment list.

I just thought I'd mention so the good folks at Outlaw know when the next version comes along...The Rotel 1068 lets you adjust center sub etc..on the fly,and the best part is when you change inputs,sources or turn it off it resets to your original calibrations,very smart thinkin'and a great feature.
