I guess I just don't get it. I thought the 990 could handle a 192khz bit rate input, but when I optically connect my media center computer with Auzentech X-Meridian sound card, capable of 192khz high definition audio, I get nothing. The surround configuration display just freezes up! I have to set the sound card driver back to 96khz! Today, alot of DVD & CD players are capable of digital ouputs in excess of 192khz. Does this mean that the 990 is already obsolete! confused

Outside HDMI audio from HD-DVD or Blu-ray, there are no sources that are natively higher than 96KHz. The players may do some upsampling, but you can just as well use the 990's upsampling to achieve the same thing.
