heprat -- do you have the XBR with side speakers, or the A2000 with speakers beneath? The XBRs are mighty wide and I'm wondering if they would look out-of-proportion on the triple.

BDI Furniture will work and is well made. Quality/ finish is top notch. Manufacturing shows a sense of pride , everything fits perfectly, even the carton, or I should say crate, comes reinforced. 3 finishes are available, cherry, espresso, and noir (black) using real oak veneer. Made for a/v equipment: open back, shelves slotted for ventilation, glass for IR. Cable management. Simple assembly needed only for hardware and feet. The specs do not indicate this, but the center drawer is removable and is 25"W x 8.5"H. Bottom shelves hold 75lbs easily and are 19" deep and open. Middle shelves are 16" deep. http://www.bdiusa.com/avfurniture/avion_8527.shtml

My sister has the Salamader Synergy and is happy with it, but said assembly was tedious. My wife didn't like the bolts showing on top. So that was the deal killer

I have been hiding out in the Saloon for about a week and u all have been very helpful in my new venture with separates and todays purchase of the 990/7125 combo. Thanks a bunch!

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered a sparse triple from Salamander Designs to hold the TV and a center channel speaker, plus a tall single unit to hold all the equipment (I'm tired of bending down to insert/remove discs, etc).

Thanks for everyone's input! Maybe I can post pictures, once I receive it and assemble it all, say in a week or two, if anyone is interested.

FYI, I'm still waiting on some of the Synergy parts, evidently backordered... so no pics yet...

That's a long wait from Salamander...

I would have ordered the Triple 20 from them when I put my HT together, but I couldn't get past the color of the wood being so different from the color of my Rosenut B&W 804Ss. I almost went with black until I saw BDI's Axis lineup. The wood color (cognac) matched my speakers much better.

I do like how the Salamander is more enclosed, though - wires are much more visible with my Axis pieces. They were quite pricey - $1,500 or so for both pieces. For that price, I wish I had less visible wires.

Just thought I'd share.

Update: All parts are in and assembled.

All cherry with black posts.

Salamander Triple to support the TV and center channel speaker, no sides or doors.

A single 20 with solid sides, and a 40 extension with perforated metal sides and the extended back, both with the perforated doors. It's still a bit tight with the Outlaw 990, using Blue Jeans Cable balanced XLR cables to the B&K 200.7 amp below, but everything technically fits, and without too much squeezing.

I love the capacity, solidness, looks, ventilation. Quite the ordeal getting all... plus the triple came with improperly drilled holes the first time, had to contact Salamander, but they quickly send me replacement panels.

I'll post pictures.

Thanks for everyone's recommendations.
