One of the advertising features in the new 3.11 firmware is the ability to rename Audio inputs. Did anyone use this new feature? I updated my 990 to the new firmware while ago but never try it. Yesterday I want do it and can’t find the way to do so. When I press [select and input) it display Version 311 04

I have used it with the CD input and tape input. The 7.1 Direct, phono, and tuner inputs can't be renamed because they are sort of specialized, but the AUX, CD, and TAPE inputs can be renamed just like DVD and VIDEO1 through VIDEO5.

To change the name of an input (any video input except 7.1 Direct and any audio input except phono or tuner), go to that input's setup screen (MENU | INPUT CONFIG | GO TO AUDIO INPUTS if you are interested in an audio input | input name). Once you're there, the first line will be NAME. Highlight that and press SELECT on the remote, at which point you'll be able to use the left/right cursor controls to highlight individual letters and the up/down cursor controls to change those letters.

Hi Gonk,
Thanks for the quick replay. I try only the Tuner and give up to quickly.
The others can be renamed as you mentioned.
Did the Outlaw find solution for the mystery IR input port?
I can’t make it working.
Regards
Kris

The IR input port requires an interface module (Xantech 794-10 to be precise) due to the type of IR input used on the original Etronics hardware platform.
