I have a little red speaker appeared on the display of the 990 and I can't get rid of it

Can anyone enlighten me?

That is the indicator that tells you the main zone is enabled. If you hold down either mute button (remote or front panel) for several seconds (3 to 5, depending on whether you're using the remote or the front panel), the 990 will shut down the main zone and turn on the headphone output. When that happens, the red speaker indicator will disappear and your speakers will go silent.

Yep, it means that all is well, and it's always there in the corner.

Note to Outlaw. This question comes up quite a bit. I don't believe it's in the manual, probably should be.
