Hi guys, been a lurker for awhile & i'm a regular over at Klipsch. Bought the 990/7500 a few months ago & i'm so satisfied I recommend your products over at Klipsch.
I bought this tv today http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2301404&Tab=1&NoMapp=0

The plasma has 2 hdmi ports, one which appears to accept dvi as well. My Dish box (non hdtv)and dvd (non hdmi/dvi)are ran thru the 990 via svideo & optical.
Today I simply connected coax out of Dish box to plasma & svideo out of 990 to plasma. What do you advise as far as dvi/dvi or dvi/hdmi from 990 to plasma? Any benefit? I'm an audio guy not video. Thank you

My apologies. That was poorly worded. I will have to learn your software.
Where is the proper place to post a question about an audio rack?

We're not too picky. Outlaw to Outlaw would be a pretty good choice for asking about audio racks. And you're certainly in the right place for 990 questions.

Both HDMI inputs will accept video from DVI sources - the only difference is that one HDMI source offers a stereo analog input for audio in case you want to connect a DVI device to the TV and need to send audio to the TV's internal speakers. Since you have a home theater to take care of the audio, you could connect DVI sources to either input. If your sources don't have DVI or HDMI outputs, however, there's no need to worry about the HDMI inputs on your TV because the 990's DVI switching does not transcode analog video signals (composite, s-video, and component) to digital (DVI).

Thank you sir, you are obviously the man on this forum. I won't bother until I upgrade source components.

Another question if I may:
I am going to add a dvd player with hdmi. For best video quality should I connect the dvd straight to plasma (hdmi/hdmi) or connect dvd to 990 (hdmi/dvi) then 990 to plasma (dvi/hdmi)?
I've searched the forum enough to confuse myself on the video end..Thanks

I'd recommend going through the 990 if you think you'll add a second DVI or HDMI device in the foreseeable future (HD satellite box, PS3/Blu-ray, or HD-DVD) because it will simply your system: the TV will switch between only one digital video input and one analog video input, and you'll only have one HDMI cable to run over to the plasma. The 990's DVI switching is not going to create any signal degradation in the digital video signal so going through it is quite safe, but there's no reason to buy the extra video cable if you're only going to have a single DVI/HDMI device.
