I plan on getting a 990 to run the audio end of my home theater system. I'm using an HTPC for video playback and will send the audio signal from the HTPC mobo to the 990 via a digital coax SPDIF cable. Is anyone else using this kind of setup? If so, how do you like it or not like it?

thanks,
Craig

I run my setup that way and absolutely love it. First I ran my HTPC via the USB into the 990 USB and didn't really like the sound. I found an M-Audio external sound card that I use on the PC and and optical to the 990 and it's much better. There is nothing negative I can think of.

I'm using a htpc for the front end and have no problems. Same thing, SPDIF coax out to the 990 and DVI from the video card. It's just a HP with media center, but it works great. I'm a newbie when it comes to htpc's. I'm also using the Pure Video Decoder as well
