I have a pair of "wireless" Advent speakers I use on my deck to remotely play CDs playing in the house. The Advents have a small, saucer shaped transmitter that needs to be plugged into an analog output, i.e. tape out, etc. I can't seem to find an analog output (with L/R RCA jacks-) on my 990 that will supply a useable signal (or apparently ANY analog signal) to drive the transmitter. All of my audio inputs to the 990 are via the Toslink connectors- I know that the 990 doesn't convert digital video to analog (Thanks Gonk!). Is the same true of audio?

I know that the analog record outputs (tape out and video1 out) only get the stereo analog inputs - digital audio inputs are not available at those outputs. I don't recall trying the second zone output, though. Have you tried the second zone output?

Yepper, I did try the 2nd zone outputs, but with the same results. Last night after I posted the original question I hooked the transmitter directly to the unused RCA audio outs on the CD player, so at least I'm back in business.. Thanks for the response as always, Gonk!

Zone 2 should work fine for this. But, you do need to use the Zone 2 remote control to select the audio source you want to come out on the Zone 2 audio outputs. You can then listen to whatever you want on Zone 2: Tuner, CD, TV, AUX, etc. independent of what the 990 is sending to the mains.
