I personally like some authority when a door slams in a movie or a guy gets punched. When not listening at reference levels, a sub can help create that environment. There are a few subs that are very accurate which integrate well with your speakers. Rel and Velodyne immediately come to mind. The rel subs didn't give me enough thunder but were AWESOME with music.
