My sony projector has 5bnc inputs, will a simple dvi-5bnc adaptor allow me to hook the 990 to it?

I have a sony projector as well. The DVI has to have both analogue and digital to pass directly to rgb. I have a momitsu dvd player which has both on their dvi output so I run directly to the projector with a dvi to rgbhv cable. It works great. Better than any component video so far. Make sure the 990 is both analogue and digital. I think DVI-d is strictly digital and DVI-I is both. Thanks

DVI was developed by the computer industry as an interface for LCD monitors (which are digital display devices). The standard includes provisions for analog data to pass through DVI (identified as DVI-I, where the second I stands for integrated I believe). As a result, there are some pins in the DVI connector that are reserved for analog data. The only way that a breakout cable would work with DVI devices is if the source provides analog data at the DVI connector. Mktheater's Momitsu is pretty unusual - almost all consumer electronics with DVI are digital only (DVI-D), so a breakout adapter would be completely useless.

Yeah, I was shocked when the company told me to connect directly to my crt projector. I did not know this as I was using component video like always. Then I ordered a dvi to rgbhv cable and it WORKED.
