Repeatedly when picking dts I only get sound from my center channel. I have to pick two channel downmix on the 990 then click dts again to get all five channels to work. This is happening on movies with 5.1 sound. Am I doing something wrong or is this unit slightly defective.

I assume these are movies with DTS 5.1 tracks, right? You pick the DTS track on the DVD and the 990 detects the DTS bitstream and engages DTS, but only the center channel is active? I've listened to a number of DTS tracks and not experienced this. Somebody else may have some thoughts on this, but unless something pops up here tonight or tomorrow you might give Outlaw support a call and kick it around with them a bit.

That is exactly what happens. I can correct the problem by selecting 2 channel and then going back to dts. Obviously I shouldn't have to do that at all. I'll try outlaw tommorrow.

I've heard the opposite. I'll be watching satellite in 5.1 and switch (using a preset) to 2 ch music and it stays in 5 ch mode. I have to pick stereo again to get 2 ch.
