I source all my music and movies from the computer. Have used both RCA and TOSLINK digital connections to the 990. Optical is better, of course.

For movies, I use the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS platinum sound card. This card allows for an 44.1kHz or 96kHz clock signal synchronization to the 990. Only the 44.1Hz option works. Just installed a E-MU 1212m sound card for music listening smile This card allows for 1) choosing whether to use an internal clock signal (E-MU 1212m card) or an external clock signal (the 990) and 2) and allows choice of clock synchronization at frequencies of 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 96kHz. Again only the 44.1kHz option works. Further, I previously used an M-Audio 7.1 Revolution sound card for music (RCA S\PDIF to 990). Again this card defaulted/only worked with the 44.1kHz clock freq. sync. rate.

My question then please, is ... can the 990 function only as the sole sync clock generator or can this be optioned? Also regardless of the answer to the first question, can you change the digital synchronization clock rate the 990 will accept or generate?

Any responses appreciated, thankyou for your time smile

This is a question that I'd highly recommend contacting Outlaw directly about - either on the phone during business hours (866-688-5292) or online .

If Outlaw can't help, there a chance you could find a simple solution in these . They don't specifically say they'll fix your problem, but they seem to solve all other problems, and hey, they are clocks.

LOL, Greg -- I only hope we don't end up with another long message train on these things! wink
