It seems like anything by Pixar is a good bet. I was just watching Monsters, Inc again yesterday for the first time since getting the 990/7125/LFM-2 and I was amazed. The parts where Boo laughs, causing electrical surges, were particularly fun to listen to.

One of my favorite movies is Amélie, and I was delighted at the quality of the soundtrack after watching it again with the Outlaw gear. Good mix of low and high frequencies with effective and creative use of the surrounds. Really outstanding (especially for a non-action type film), and paired with equally brilliant cinematography and a charming story with interesting characters, it's hard to beat IMHO.

One related subtopic that might make an interesting thread on it's own is "great old movies with good 5.1 remixes". I just saw Once Upon A Time In the West, and thought they did a pretty nice job on it.

The kids were gone last night and I put in The Incredibles and ran it at about -10 (they really don't like it that loud)....WOW.
I only watched some of the scenes that were recommended by SVS for sub demos...

1. "Building comes down", Scene 6 (0:22:59)
2. "Syndrome", Scene 13 (0:52:01)
3. "Ouch", Scene 15 (0:58:15)
4. "Sticky balled", Scene 16 (01:02:30)

but man was it fun. The couch was shaking and the overall effects were great.

For music DVDs...check out The Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense and The Eagles-Hell Freezes Over with DTS...very nice.

just watched those choice scenes from the Incredibles.. great LFE. why do a lot of the animated movies have such good sound in them? It's great.

I enjoy Master & Commander, even with my POS system you can hear small details like people talking in the back ground, the wood of the ship creeking, its full of surround effects and with this box that is supposed to be a subwoofer, the battle scenes are pretty intense.

This may be the most impressive DTS sound track I've ever heard. It was one of the first movies I watched after receiving my 990/7125 combo and completing my system. I was amazed.
