I do not believe that we'll see a board replacement for HDMI on the 990 - that amount of re-engineering and retrofitting would be pretty painful for a product in this price range. Anthem's offering it for the AVM-30 (they basically upgrade it to an AVM-40, which just adds HDMI v1.1 inputs and output), but I believe that update costs several hundred dollars - we're talking about half the original price of a 990. And Anthem has the advantage of having their manufacturing located here in North America, so they can get the unit back at the factory rapidly and make the changes.
I know that we've had other equipment photographed sans cover, but I don't know that we've seen a 990. I couldn't find any for my
outlaw pics . I have seen some pics of the inside of a Sherwood P-965, but of course that doesn't include the DVI or balanced connections.
