Thanks Relentless, I understand that. But my question went deeper. Does any one use 2 subwoofers in the same room ? Is there any advantage ?

Hi there,

Sure, some have more than one sub. I have three, if you count the two in my Definitive towers. Advantages could include more bass, smoother bass with less effort, stereo subs to maintain front imaging (in which case you wouldn't want to use the two sub outs, you'd want to maintain Left and Right). A large room may not be well serviced by only one sub, so you may need more than one sub to get to "normal" or, if desired, "room-shaking" levels.

That's a start. I bet there are more reasons that someone around here could think up.

Have a great day!

As Otto says, there are a number of folks with more than one sub. Some people use two subs to achieve both high SPL's and low frequency response (sweeping generalization: the deeper a sub is tuned, the less overall sound power level it typically can provide), especially in rooms wiht very large volumes. There are also cases where the most convenient places to put a sub yield room nulls (areas where the way the sound waves reflect off the walls and other obstructions in the space yield "dead spaces"), and adding a second sub in a different location can help correct those nulls.
