I have a 5.1 system. I configured the processor to 5.1 with no rear channels and then started the speaker autosetup.

After checking through all the speakers (including looking for the rear ones even though I had configured it as 'none' for rears in the setup) the autoconfiguration tells me that it can not go on with the setup as my front speakrs are small and the side speakers, large.. and I should switch the speakers and try again.

I am pretty sure the front are large PSB floor standing speakers and the rears PSS small speakers. I did try to configure with the front set as 'large' AND 'small' and ofcourse the rears are set up as small but to no avail.

Does anyone know how I can resolve this? Any help would be appreciated.

This happens in some cases due to room interactions, and the only suggestion I have that might help is to play with the microphone placement - setting it on a tripod to put it at head-level in the sweet spot has worked perfectly in my system.

I had the same problem.
I played with the mic position (as Gonk points out) and eventually got it to work.

Had the same problem here. Let the auto-setup do it's thing to get the delay values (wrote them down), and then did a manual config. I could never get my auto setup to work.

After reading Scott's post, I tried auto setup again, but I lowered the crossover of all the speakers to 60hz first. Autosetup then worked just fine. When it was done, I adjusted the crossover frequencies of the surrounds and center back up to 100hz.
