Just tried to install upgrade. I got multiple error messages and per the instructions I checked connections, turned 990 off/on and restarted the upload process. I gave up after about 10 attempts. I disconnected the usb cable, turned the 990 off and turned the switch back to opr. Now however I cannot power up the 990!.. Help does anyone have any suggestions.

I had problems doing mine at first with my desktop PC, then I switched to my laptop and it cruised right through it. My laptop is newer and has a better USB chipset. Got another PC you can try?

I probably can, my bigger concern is that I can't even power up the 990. To use someone elses words it appears to be a brick right now. Any thoughts on recovery from that issue

It sounds like you got far enough to erase the old, but not far enough to install the new. I am told that there's a trick for stubborn cases like that (came out of a call I made to Scott this week about the detailed instructions for the update): After you put the switch in the SVC position, try toggling the power on and off and back on a couple times fairly before you start the update. That may help it get all the way through.

i had a few problems to , fixed it by taking out usb at 990 blowing the dust off and reinserting, however i did around 5 resets before this.
print off the instructions and read line by line, i missed a couple of points on the first read through

Success! I had to take the 990 to another room/computer and reinstalled. I got one error message but then the upgrade took. Now all I have to do "put this beast " back into my cabinet and hope I hook everything up correctly. Am breathing easier now, at least it turns on.

Took me about 15 tries to finally get it to go through. I kept getting the error just after the erase. Finally worked though, and it seems pretty good. I definitely like the fix to the bass management. Now I can listen to two channel without making any adjustments...
