Has the upgrade changed the way 7.1 Direct Works?

I use the small speaker plus sub setting for movies and CD's. However, when I play SACD's I have an excellent player that has its own bass managment. I do not want the 990 to take my SACD analog signal and A/D to D/A to apply bass management. This means I have to go to the menu and reset speakers to large with sub each time then remember to set it back when I want to watch movies again. This is a pain in you no where. Also I loss all the speaker calibration levels each time so I have to reset them.

The Outlaws told me when I pruchased this unit in July 2005 this would be fixed in the upgrade, but I see no mention of it. I have tried to be patient, but I will be very upset if this was not addresed on the current upgrade. I called but no response as of yet. Does anyone know the answer?

I haven't checked 7.1 yet but I don't think that was changed nor was stereo bypass, I'm pretty disapointed with the upgrade but I guess everyone has different needs when it come to Bass Management.
