I have connected my DVD player's HDMI output to the 990 with a HDMI/DVI cable, and I can't get it to pass the signal through to my projector. I've tried two different types of DVD players (one Sony, one Samsung). The Samsung player (NS975V) actually has a light on the front panel that lights up when correctly connected to an HDCP port. It lights up when directly plugged into the projector, but not the 990.

It is working however, with my Directtv satellite receiver using the same setup (HDMI/DVI cable). The HDMI signal passes through fine.

I have tested all cables and swapped the DVI ports on the 990, they both work with satellite receiver, just not the DVD players. And yes, I've configured both DVD players for HDMI output, and have manually switched the projector for HDMI input. Any thoughts?

I assume you've tried swapping the HDMI/DVI cable being used by the DVD player with the HDMI/DVI cable being used by the satellite receiver to make sure it's not a cable issue.

I've been able to run a Sony DVP-NS90V with HDMI/DVI cables to a 990 then DVI/HDMI cable to a Sony TV. I had trouble with Monster Cable, so the ones that worked were generic cables.

Everything is working fine running my Oppo and HD Tivo through the 990 and then to my projector. You say you have configured the dvd players for HDMI output but have you switched the 990 to DVI (in the 990's menu) for the dvd player?

Did you ever get it to work?

On my projector, it has an EDID settings. If yours does, you may try changing it. I have a problem in that my Direct Sat box likes one setting and my PC works on the other setting. Because of this, I've had to connect my SAT with component Vs. HDMI w/ DVI end.
Good luck,
Rob
