I want to get a relatively inexpensive amp for the second zone on my 990. It will drive 2 small speakers for my patio/backyard. So far I have been looking at these two: Onkyo M-282 - I have found this one as low as $210. Audiosource Amp One - not at all familiar with audiosource components. So thoughts on these two or any other suggestions in a similar price range?

Parasound's Zamp is more expensive - $300 - but a used one could fit your budget. It doesn't offer as much power, but it's been a very popular small amp over the years. And while we're talking about less power (albeit likely still enough to handle patio/backyard speakers), there's always Sonic Impact's T-Amp (available here and here , among other sources) - it's only 10W or so and you'll want to pick up an AC adapter (unless you already have one handy), but for $30 it's an entertaining option.

Do you get any fan noise with this unit?

Check out used on e-bay either:
Parasound HCA-500 (50 watts) or HCA-800 (80 watts).
you can find these for around $100 +/- $20 if you look around. Overall a great amp for the money.

Looks like I will be going with this 2 channel amp for my second zone: Behringer A500 Seems like a nice amp for a very reasonable price. Thanks for everyone's suggestions.

I really like it. More power, price was right (bit cheaper than the Onkyo), free delivery and highly recommended by a few friends. Works great with my second zone.
In the end I felt that the Behringer was probaly a better quality build for the price. Plus I like the ability to adjust the level on each channel via the amp. I would recommend.
