Just about everything seems to be working well for me with the 990 and 7500. There are two things I can't seem to get to work correctly. I have the inputs setup to display the volume etc. on the screen but it doesn't seem to appear with the component out. It appears with the s video out though. I also can't seem to get the 990 front panel time out to work correctly. I have tried changing the time out to all of the settings in the menu and it will only either stay on forever or turn off after about 3 seconds.

the display won't appear on the component video at all. it's designed that way.. i guess something about it taking to much bandwidth or something like that to get it to display over componenet video.

The "pop-ups" (volume, input, and such) are not added to the component video inputs because of the video processing horsepower required (manipulating a 1080i signal that way without degrading the picture is cost-prohibitively difficult). That's why the data is only added to composite and s-video inputs. The OSD menu is available over the component inputs because the 990 replaces the video source entirely with a blue screen (which I believe is generated at a 480i resolution).
