Ok. Maybe I am going crazy but why am I having such a discrepancy when I calibrate my speakers with the Digital Video Essentals DVD vs the test tones on my Sherwood P-965? I am using a Radio Shack SPL meter and the difference is not small.

For example, with the DVE disc my RF channel is set to -2 and with the internal 965 tones it is set to +2. This is all with the 965 set to 00db and achieving a 75 on the meter with it weighted at C, slow. Which one is the right one? confused

Is the discrepancy consistant across all of the channels? If so, it would indicate that the P-965's test tones are a few dB hotter than DVE's test tones, meaning that both would be right (and that both would yield the same results if you adjusted for the difference).

Yes it is pretty consistent actually. So I guess it's all relative. Thanks Gonk.
