AM direct tuning NOT a big deal with me. There is an AM station here at 1450 that carries a lot of BBC material, but I've already put it in my presets list. As a software bug this is about flea size.

It turns out one connector on the component cable is the problem. New set of cable fixed the problem that I have.

Hi folks,
I've encountered a somewhat similar problem that I hope can be solved as simply.
Suddenly my s-video to component conversion has stopped working.S-video still outputs fine through s-video, and the component out work fine when swiching component inputs, but when I switch to an s-video input, I just get a slightly herringboned black screen from the component out.
Since every thing else is working, I've concluded that it can't be a connection issue. I don't see anything in the set-up menues that should effect this.
Anybody got a suggestion?

Hmmmm? might want to check both ends of your S-video cable. sometimes those tiny pins get bent and it won't work right.

I had 2 s-video connections into the 990. I repaced both cables, Component conversion works great.
If we wern't 3000 miles apart I'd buy you a beer.
