I realize AM tuning is kind of an afterthought nowadays, but has anybody else experienced this problem: if I try to select an AM station by direct frequency entry as described on page 37 of the manual, I can do it for 3-digit stations, e.g., 940, but if I try a 4-digit frequency like 1270, the display says "invalid frequency" before going back to the station already tuned. Stepping up or down with the "channel" buttons works OK. There's nothing in the manual to explain this.

Are you pressing the "select" button after you enter the four digits, or it is messing up before you have the chance?

I just tried AM tuning again. Direct frequency entry works up to 1190. But if I try anything from 1200 up, the display shows a blank for the second digit (e.g., 1250 shows as 1 50), the message INVALID FREQ appears, and then the tuner reverts to the previous station, whatever it was. Maybe someone else can try this.

Answering your question, gonk, I have pressed "direct" before entering the digits and "select" afterward, just as the manual says.

Mine's doing the same thing - entering a 2 or higher in the second digit inserts a space and the digit. Interesting this is that if you enter "120" you get "1 20", but if you then enter a "3" (while the cursor is on the "1") you get "1320" and can press select to accept that channel. That's curious, and it's not just you.

I'm having the exaxt same problem. Our classical music station is AM 1660. (I know, I know -classical music station and AM is an oxymoron)- that's why I'm usually listening to KING over the internet.

I sent an e-mail to Outlaws about the tuning problem and they suggested I wasn't operating the remote correctly. I never followed up on it - too busy enjoying the sound - but now that I know there are others out there with the same problem perhaps we can get the Outlaws to take a harder look at it.
