Hello, I am looking into the Outlaw 990/7125 combo but do have a question. Presently I have L/R front powered Definitive Technology BP2006's, Center powered Def Tech C/L/R 2000, a Def Tech Supercube I, and non powered BP-2X's for surrounds making a 5.1 set up (Call it speaker set up A). I also have 2 in wall Boston Acoustic speakers in dining room for entertaining (speaker set up B). On my Kenwood VR-4080, rated at 110, I can have speakers A or B or A+B. How would one do this with the 990/7125 combo?
My present problem is that the Kenwood is cutting out even at moderate volumes. I have a fan (external) cooling the receiver but I still have the problem. I am not sure if something is wrong internally or if it just does not have enough power for the speaker set up. Def tech says speakers are 4-8 ohms but if given the choice, consider them 4 ohms. Would the 990/7125 set up solve this problem?
Thank you in advance for responses.

Gonk,
Thank you for the response. I was thinking something similar but needed someone to summarize it like you did to help.
I will most likely make my purchase this week.
Thanks again.

Lanion... the more power the better. I have easily driven speakers (Ascends) and I went for the absolute most power I could afford. 7x200w rated all channels driven (and I hear this is conservative), with the Sherbourn 7/2100A. My current set-up may not require all of it, but there's no guarantee that won't change in the future... and amps last forever : )

Although I have a 7100, I've driven the 7 channels into a combination of 4 (and maybe lower) and 8 ohm, inefficient speakers without any problems, and with the unit getting only moderately warm. Luckily, I now have a 7.1 system with newer, more efficient 8 ohm speakers, and after several hours of listening to music and/or movies, it barely gets warm. With its added power, I'm sure the 7125 will perform even better.
