I am new to this whole XLR thing... would it be possible to run 2 7 channel amps using the RCA and XLR hookups to the 990?

Seems if you you had biwirable speakers that would be rather ideal...

From what I understand, the unbalanced (RCA) outputs are disabled when the balanced (XLR) outputs are connected. There is also a gain difference between the two connection types (3dB, if I remember correctly) that would making bi-amping tricky unless the amps being used had individual gain control. Y-adapters would probably still be the easiest way to passively bi-amp.

Why is this? I'm using the unbalanced outputs in my main room, but was hoping to be able to use the balanced outputs to hook up Outlaw multichannel amp with balanced inputs in another room down the road. Seems the 990 could be able to output low volatage signal simultaneously to both balanced and unbalanced outputs. Is there at least a way to hook up both and select one output or the other ? Seems a big waste of output jacks if you can't utilize them in this fashion. I personally would like to see this in a firmware update if at all possible. Pretty please. Okay, no more begging, but it sure would be nice for my set up. -Don
