I have not had very good past experiences with H/K theater gear. I've had two different AVR model theater receivers. Both failed within a year. HK gave me a song and dance about fixing/replacing them so I ended up just throwing both out and decided to never buy any equipment from HK again.

Cheers,

Bui,
when ever i pop into a mass chain outlet for a DVD or shopping w/ the wife for appliances... i cruise the audio for fun.
If they have a seperate room for equipment - i do a fly-bye. I usally find HK equipment broken and/or not working where other manufactures are at least working.

just my 2 cents worth ... i'm in the same camp as Ritz.

Also keep in mind that Outlaw has that nice 30 day trial guarantee.

If you don't like the 990, you are only out the $50 or so you paid to have it shipped to you.

I have had many HK recievers in the past and they have all provide great sound and reliable service. That being said the 970/7125 was a very large leap in sound quality over my previous HK 525. I would give the outlaws a shoot in your system and see how it sounds.

1200 v 2k,the HK'S put to shame most avrs,I've owned a bunch,never had functional problem w/HK.There is an $800 difference,if you got the money I'd prefer the 990/7125 anyday.

right now i have an 10 years old h/k. i think h/k sound good too. But now i am afraid of the quality, there is a lot of Factory Remanufactured on their website for sale plus a lot of complainning about stuff not working on web.

so my choice will be outlaw or rotel. but for now i need to save another grand.
thanks a lot for all the advices
