Just added the 990 to my recent 7700 and wondered if anyone here actually uses balanced outputs? Can you tell me what the sound difference actually is?

My 7700 is wonderful and now driving 7 full range speakers and 2 REL Stentor subs. The 990 is due in a week or so and I wondered if the balanced approach really makes a difference.

Thanks as always
Rob

I use the balanced outputs to drive my DEQX (stereo xover), the differance was apparent to both my wife and I. The balanced sounded "fuller" with better midrange punch. Perhaps this was a result of better electronics on the 990 XLRs or the DEQX XLRs. Don't know, but why not try it? You can just try a set of pro mike cables ($12 for shorties) If that works better in stereo, go for the outlaw cables!
