I have my DVD player (Samsung 841) and HD cable box in the DVI inputs and DVI output to my Hitachi 57F500 (Video 1). The xbox (component output) is in the component 2 input on the 990. From the 990, I also have component video output to my Video 2 on the the TV where I can see the onscreen menus. DVD's and cable show perfectly on the tv's video 1, while the xbox can only be seen on video 2. I thought the 990 upconverts all video signals to the dvi output. What am I missing?

The 990 upconverts standard (composite) video and S-Video to component, but it does not covert either to DVI. The DVI is "Switching" only.

If I only read the manual. The correct explanation is there, it really is.
