is it not possible to change the input from the front panel? I find it odd that only the remote can do that?

I've pressed the input button on the 990 front panel and nothing changes.

Before the input button will work, you have to be out of all the menus. Make sure you hit the menu button and you have a blank screen. Then the input button will work.

After you push the input button, use the up/down buttons to cycle through the inputs.

The only input I am aware of that can not be accessed by the front of the unit is the 7.1 input. All others are accessible.

On the front panel you press the [Input] button once and then use the up & down arrow buttons to scroll through the sources. --- Mike

This thread pre-dates the v3.11 firmware, which allowed access to the 7.1 Direct input via the front panel.
