Hello -

I like the Saloon as a resource for researching stuff!!

The 990/7500 combo is sweet but I'm missing out on full benefits.

I've run into a problem with my remote. It does not seem to want to control the 990. I am making sure I press the TNR button first. I've been able to program other devices into the remote and those are responding to it no problem. Unfortunately this leads me to believe the 990 itself is having a problem and not the remote.

Am I missing anything? Can I make sure the TNR button is programmed correctly to control the 990 and if it isn't how do I fix it?

Biggest issue other than getting up to control volume, etc. is not being able to experience SACD/DVD-A 7.1 analog since I can't make that an Input from the front panel (weird oversight!)

Thanks !

Ed

Have you perhaps reprogrammed the TNR button? That would produce the behavior you are describing. Either way, I'd suggest giving Outlaw a call on Monday.

Thanks. I already got a reply from Steve at Outlaw (nice) and he had one suggested way to retry the remote - it still does not work. I will call him on Monday. He does not think it is the IR receiver in the unit.

I don't think I reprogrammed the TNR button. I pretty much put the batts in and tried powering up, nothing. But who knows.

Thanks again -

Ed

I had that same problem with my 990 yesterday! I could control my TV with the remote but not the 990; even though the batteries were new I put fresh ones in and still had the same problem.

I then pulled the batteries out of the remote for about 15 minutes, put them back in and it worked like a charm! Give it a try, I also powered down the 990 and unplugged it for a few minutes but it did not start working again untill I pulled the remotes batteries and left them out for a while, not just a minute or two.

Quick update - Outlaw responded quickly to my problem and I have a new remote that works fine.

As bizarre as it may seem ( I swear I didn't do anything different ) the original "broken" remote mysteriously started working after I came back from a long weekend away. Before I got the replacement remote, every night I'd fiddle around with the remote that wouldn't work and never got it to perform - then I'm gone a couple of days, try it and Bingo! it works.

Outlaw had me send it back anyway when I told them.

I love the 990/7500 setup - outstanding!!

Thanks -
