I doubled the height of my rack and put the tivo on the top shelf. Now my s-video cable is not long enough.I have 3 cables but none will make it directly.I could reach the 990 from the top shelf and I can reach the TV from the 990 so I tried connecting thru the vid 1 in and vid 1 rec/out. I switched the input to s-vid but I am getting no signal to the tv.If I pull the box down and hook up strait to the tv it works but I cant get it to work thru the 990.

any suggestions? thanks

This may be old news to you, but check the setting in the 990 for the input's video source and make sure it's set to s-video and not component (I think video1 may default to component 1).

thanks for your help.I did have it set to S-vid but I did not have the input plugged into the corresponding jack.I had overlooked that DVD has its own jack so when I went to the menu and rechecked what video source it was set to I realized I was one off.
