Just received my 990 / 7500 combo, and I love it. The difference between this and my old Pioneer is night and day. The 7500 gave me hernia getting to the basement, but it was worth it smile

Only issue I seem to have an issue with are the stiffness of the outlaw XLR cables. I'm going to try some vecro wraps to to tame them. Anyone else have this issue, or no ?

I've heard somewhere else recently that the PCB's are stiff, so I suspect you are not alone on that. I suspect that this is pretty typical of a balanced cable, though - the extra conductors and an appropriate serving of shielding would tend to get pretty bulky. The locking connectors should at least help, since it will prevent the stiffness in the cables from pulling them loose.

Thats sounds like a great combo,I have the 7125 at present and some very eff.speakers, and lots of headroom. The 7500 is very tempting though.

You can try heating up the wire jackets a bit with a hair dryer. That should temporarily make them pliable enough to route them how you want and get them zip tied in place.

Cheers,

I elected to get bluejeanscable XLR cables, as their other cables have always been very high quality, and the reasonable price is just a bonus. They are not in the least stiff, and actually more flexible than their unbalanced ICs.

SlaggEm,

I have the 1.2 meter Outlaw XLR cables between my 990 and ATI 2005. Yep, they are pretty stiff and they take up extra space behind my cabinet. I understand Outlaw will not take cables back but no harm in asking them. Hope it works out for you.

I also have the XLR cables (990/7500); they're stiff, but not really an issue for my setup. I would assume that the plastic jacket that the cable is enclosed in gives them their stiffness. They are well built (they look like they came out of a B-1 bomber).
As you stated, the 7500 is heavy-almost needed a chainfall and a come-along to get it into the rack.

I was able to get the cables to behave -- I put a velcro wrap on each once i had it coiled. They do take up a bunch of space, but they do look pretty cool.

I got a set 0.5M of Outlaw XLR cable two weeks ago. It turns out these cables are a little too short for my current setup. I called Outlaw and tried to exchange for a longer set. She told me that they don’t accept return on cable and asked me to leave my phone number for them to call back on the exchange. No one from Outlaw call back frown

Anyway, back to the outlaw XLR cable. I am very surprise how stiff they are. I believe the outer jacket makew it stiff not the signal cable inside. I bought some high end XLR connectors + high shielded cable and make myself a set that a lot more flexible. They look and work well on my setup. I have worked for a well known high tech cable company for 13 years so making these assembly is not a big problem for me laugh
