I will welcome the 990 into my setup next week. It is a decision that has been a long time coming. I managed to squeeze every last drop out of my Parasound AVC 2500 And to be quite honest Im just bored with it. So anyway just wanted to say hi and am sure I will be very well pleased with my 990 from all the great things I have read.

Hello, Davin, and welcome to the saloon. I look forward to hearing how the 990 does in your setup. As you've already discovered, the folks around here should be able to help answer any questions that come up.
Congrats,Ive been running the 990 through its paces and it keeps gettin' better.I've been doing some very critical listening in 2ch because it was quickly evident for HT this is the best unit I've owned.Thats no small task to me as its been up against some good competion, some at 50%-100% more cost.It holds up very well for 2ch also,no doubt the best in its class.Of course it may be alone in its class for all it offers.
Thanks for the feedback guys. Truth be known I was never fully satisfied with my AVC2500 for movies. 2 channel it was wonderfull but in surround modes it never came close to my Sony TAE 9000es. As you can tell from my picture I happen to be a big fan of Parasound products. It was a big desision for me between the HaloC2 and the 990 But I also remembered kicking myself in the pants for buying the 2500 over the Outlaw 950. so that played a big roll in my choice. I have no doubt in my mind that this was a good choice and I don't even have it yet LOL

Hey Davin,
I owned the Parasound 2500 with their 140w 5 channel amp, the model number escapes me at the moment. I upgraded to Atlantic Technologies P2000 processor which is an Outlaw 950 with a different name plate. On a scale of 1 to 5 where 1 is "eh" and 5 is "oh my god" the difference was about 2.5 for music and 4 for HT. I've since moved up to the Outlaw 990 and 770 amp. For me the biggest improvement has again been with HT especially the rear channels.
I guess what I'm trying to say is I think you will be very happy with your purchase. You'll probably want to listen to all your CD's and DVD's over again to see what you've been missing.
