I agree with Gonk. I can easily see the Input and Volume from 8.5 feet (my sweet spot) away. The same could not be said for the 970 which I could not read at all. You can't see the processing mode until you cycle trough them. Then, they are the same size as the Input/Volume.

Okay got it, I'll try to set up my rack so the 990 is visible if possible.

There was a discussion about Outlaw's work on a firmware update in which someone asked if Outlaw tests firmware updates externally before releasing them, and I said that I was sure they knew I would be available for such testing , but I have no idea of when a 990 firmware update will be released.

So, has anyone heard whether or not their are plans to pass the OSD via the DVI hookups at anytime? It sure would be nice to have as seeing all my components hook up via DVI.

They will not pass the OSD via DVI on the 990. Future processors may add this, but the current hardware's DVI switching is pure switching, with no manipulation of the digital signal.
