990 Shutting Off after few seconds

Just received the 990 and 7125 yesterday. Initially was running just fine when I set up earlier today. Turned off to have dinner and when I turned them back on, the 990 shuts off after a few seconds. I see the display, see a picture, so there is a signal, and then shut-off. Keeps turning on and then almost immediately, off. I unplugged the amp to see if that was the problem, and shut-off continues. Any thoughts?

Pulled some of the cables and re-seated and now appears to be ok...we'll see...

Well, the bad news is that the 990 keeps doing this every time I turn it on. Just now, I turned it on and off about 22 times and it finally stayed on. Otherwise, turns off pretty quickly. Once on, it does stay on until I turn it off. Just has difficulty "cold" starting. Anybody have any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

I'd recommend giving Outlaw a call - there may be a hardware problem, and if there isn't they may have a quick answer to the problem. " Contact Us " at the bottom of the page will get you all you need to get in touch with them.

I haven't had any problems like this with the 990. Since you already unhooked the amp, the only other thing I could suggest is to unhook everything else from the 990 and see if the shutdowns still continue. If not, start reconnecting devices one at a time and see if one creates the issue. If it still shuts down without anything connected to it, there has to be a problem with the 990 and I would contact the Outlaws. I'm sure they will get you fixed right up. Their customer service is fabulous.

Just curious, what are you using to turn it on? Front panel? Remote? What kind of remote?
Just thinking out loud, but I had a remote with a short one time, and it would initiate commands all by itself.
Just a thought, Lonster

A quick update, and testament to the wonderful service at Outlaw. The day after I posted this thread, I received a call from Steve and we walked through a few things I could do to diagnose the problem. Before pulling out the unit, I decided to leave it on for 4 days straight. After that time, and for the past 3 days, it has worked without problem. Not sure what the initial issue was, but it seems to no longer be around. Thanks to all for the very quick suggestions.
