Hi All, I am very satisfied with my 950 but I also like new stuff:) I was curious if the extra $400 investment is well worth it or if the $400 is spent on bragging rights.
Any advice?
Thanks! Joe

Wooh, $700 is a good sell price. Run don't walk for it. 990 is definitely an upgrade from 950, which I did.

I have been looking to maybe get a used 950 and the last three that I have seen on ebay have gone for over $600. At this price it would seem that the 990 becomes an even better value as you compare the ugrades that it has to offer and the fact it can be had new for $350 to $400 more than the 950's used selling price. The only thing that I have against the 990 at this point is its height. I dont believe I can get it in my existing rack.

$700 sell price for the 950 is fantastic opportunity. I wish I had an offer anywhere near that price. Anyway, for me the biggest benefit going from 950 to 990 is the two channel music playing. My favorite mode for listening music cds are "upsampling mode". With 990 in place, I am not using my other two channel music system as much as I used to. But like rdperry said, make sure you have plenty space in your rack for 990. I had to cut out the back panel of my rack and still barely fitted. I measured 990 before I ordered it but I was still shocked how big this thing was in person. So far I am very satisfied with my upgrade to 990 from 950.
