I'm currently running a Samsung HD-DV931 DVD player through the DVI input of my 990. The Sammy is heading south fast and I've been looking into the Oppo. Since a couple of you have DV971H, can you confirm if it lives up to the hype?

The fix for the remote problem is to replace it with a Pronto or equivalent. I do not like the 990 remote and upgraded to a MX-3000. The only downside was that I had to program it from scratch because I couldn't find the discrete codes. Good luck
