Has anyone noticed that the trim levels remain after power down . My thought was that these are temporary adjustments that would go back to default levels after the unit was powered down.

Thank you...thank you. I'll be here all week. Don't forget to tip your waitress... 8-)

Which level controls are you talking about? The individual speaker levels on the surround calibration menus? If so, I'd say that having those levels be persistent across power cycling is a "feature" not a "bug." Otherwise, you'd have to recalibrate the levels every time you power cycled the unit.

I haven't felt the need to fiddle with the levels after initial setup other than a couple of tweaks to the "2 channel offset" setting. Since I've got 2 LFM-1's, it took a bit of trial and error to get movie bass/LFE to acceptable levels without blowing you away when listening to 2-channel sources.

Cheers,

While listening to a source you can adjust levels on the fly.You press test then hit the set button twice. This puts you in the level trim mode. Now you can adjust levels on the fly.I thought that the changes were temporary and would go back to the normal levels after the unit was powered down.

This is a perfect software upgrade for Outlaw.Let us adjust each input as we like. Each input will have its own level adjustment after the initial calibration is done.

This isn't a time to bicker about why this is something that I would like.It is just.Thanx.

No reason to bicker, kg - your interest in temporary trim changes and separate trim settings per input are both examples of features that some processors offer. They may be difficult to implement in the 990 at this point (may not be enough memory available for the separate settings, for example), but it can't hurt to bring it up.

Gonk,
Do you speak for Outlaw or is your reply just observations ? Sometimes it sounds like you are affiliated with Outlaw.Other times it often sounds as if you are a moderator...you wear many hats.

Yes, trims per input would be nice, I just never thought that trims would over ride calibration levels , global calibration levels , and then replace them.

Think of my as civilian/moderator - I'm not a real Outlaw (I'm a mechanical engineer in Tennessee, actually), but I've been around this forum a lot since it opened (which is part of the reason that I sound almost like a moderator at times) and have owned a number of different Outlaw products.
