new to forum so bear with me. I have the old newcastle 9080 processor and the 9080 five channel amp. They have and continue to work fine. I want to upgrade to the new processor outputs and like the unified video out. I note that the new sherwood pre pro is quite similar to the new outlaw but a little more expensive. I saw the comparison chart which looks to be quite similar. Any thoughts? I am looking at these two items or a "name" brand processor for same to little more off of ebay. Thanks for any feedback in advance.

There's a very good reason for the similarities. The Sherwood P-965 has been out for over a year now, I believe, and Outlaw worked a deal with Etronics (the company that manufactures Sherwood gear) to use the 965 chassis as the basis for the 990. Outlaw has revised the software rather significantly (including the quadruple crossover bass management), added balanced outputs, and added DVI switching. Because of Outlaw's sales model, they are able to add these extras and still stick a lower price on the unit. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like I will go the Outlaw version, newer=better, plus have been impressed with the feedback on the customer satisfaction element.
