Just got my 990 and have it pretty well set up, but I am not able to view on screen messages through the dvd component output. I am able to view dvd's with no problem and the on screen menu is viewable through component cables but no volume or status messages...is this normal or am I doing something wrong? By the way OSM is enabled and I am able to view messages while using my sacd player through S-video, suggestions?

This is normal - the OSM setup menu replaces the component video signal, but the "pop-up" overlay is not added to component inputs. It is visible on s-video and composite inputs that are converted to the component video monitor output because it is added before the conversion to component.

Thank you for the reply, I received a private message form support almost immediately (great job) stating the same thing. I guess it is good to know I wasn't screwing up something simple. Maybe this could be included in the next version of the manual. By the way I am enjoying the 990 very much, a big improvement over the Pioneer Elite 26tx I was using for a pre/pro. Thanks again.
