the 950 let you select optical or 2 channel analog for the dvd player with bypass if i remember correctly.now with the 990 i have to go to the setup screen to do it(or am i missing somthing?).i guess i could set up a not used video input for analog out of the dvd player but i would like the ablity to switch from optical to analog in the dvd input with the remote on the fly.

I think you can toggle through to bypass using the "stereo" button, but I'm not certain.

i can get to bypass with the stereo button but the 990 display still says optical and digital.when you go to setup and change the input to analog the display looses the OPT and then analog displays.
