The main room remote will not control the 2nd zone and the 2nd zone remote will not control the main zone, correct?

If I want to control both zones from the same room, can I connect the IR out on the 990 to the zone2 IR in? My Zone 1 IR in will be connected to my xantech system (when the correct interface widget arrives this week). Connected this way, will my single xantec feed control both zones? Or, will the zone 2 remote control the main zone on the main IR input?

At some point, I'd like to set up zone 2 monitor in the same room.

I guess what I am asking not very clearly is if Z1 and Z2 use different frequencies or if they use the same freqs and the IR inputs (and front panel Ir receiver) control different parts of the preamp.

Just starting on connecting this now and sorting out my system. Maybe by the end of tonight, I'll be able to test myself.

Is there a way to subscribe to email notification of a thread without posting?

The zone 2 remote uses a separate set of IR codes to control zone 2. I believe that the two IR inputs on the rear panel are functionally identical. The only way to control zone 2 from the main remote is to go into the 990's setup menu.

If you want to subscribe to e-mail notification in an existing thread, select the "Full Reply Form" button and check "Email Notification" when making a post. I don't think you can subscribe without posting in the thread.
